April and May

Gavin teamed up with Scott Urquhart  to produce and record 3 new songs of Gavin’s: “Promised Land,” “Look” and “Holdout Annie.” Scott and Gavin also co-wrote, produced and recorded “You Got Your Eyes On Me.” These new tunes featured terrific vocal performances by Melisa Kary, David Casper, Noelle Hampton and Teal Collins. Also making these songs shine was Erik “Weed” Schramm, whose guitar playing really stood out!

Summer

The highlight of the summer was Gavin entering into a co-publishing contract with Transition Music Corporation in L.A.

Gavin also spent part of the summer in LA, Florida, New York and New Jersey, with friends and family, as well as shopping his new songs.

Most of the time, Gavin was shopping his new tunes with music industry pros around the country.

Gavin joined The Songwriters Guild of America in July.

Gavin was hired by HotZoo.com to compose theme music for the website.

Gavin’s CD release from 1993, “Parallel Dreams” was placed online for sale at Overdog.com records.

Gavin and Scott co-produced “Crisis of Identity” featuring Erik Schramm on vocals and guitar.

Gavin produced the HotZoo demo at 2K Productions, with Scott doing the engineering. Melisa Kary, Loralee Christensen and David Casper contributed vocals on the 5 songs.

Gavin began working on Film Score music.

October

Gavin had his song “Holdout Annie” forwarded to Mediatone in Texas by TAXI.

Gavin began working with Rick Ellis on designing gavinlakin.com.

Gavin finished his Film Score Reel.

November

TA DA! gavinlakin.com is launched on the World Wide Web!

Gavin joined The Recording Academy. Gavin also spent time in LA at the TAXI Music Convention, also called The Road Rally. He participated in many conferences and workshops, submitted songs, met other writers, publishers, producers, and hung out with pals Scott Urquhart and David Casper.

December

Gavin worked on a Sports Music Reel, to market directly to ESPN and FOX Sports.
